love story to Inikpi

Yesterday, we went to an Ibadan version of a French Paris cafe,  outdoors, trees,  young students making noise,  we were eating chips and barbecued chicken wings, Ali and I were drinking beer, you were sipping and said to me "mum,  tell me more about my birth story" I smiled at you, lifted my head up from my candy crush saga game, Ali smiled, he looked at me and we smiled at each other,  in that look a million words had been said between us. You are a prize my darling Inikpi Araoluwa. You are the first thing I ever fought for.  (I guess you would be 😕  puzzled)  Inikpi, you were so quiet in my tummy, I was afraid you will be stillborn.  I stressed your dad so frequently to the emergency ward,  the poor chap had turned into a staff member at the general hospital.  You were quiet for another 7.5 years. Clingy, unsure, cautious, you walked late, you spoke late,  I had to leave you with strangers so I could go to work,  your dad fed you 90% of the time.  You came into my life when I was so unsure of tomorrow, but in your quietness and calm , you taught me that you love me regardless of what.  You always smiled at me with your eyes, you always gave me a hug,  no matter how horrible my day went, you would give me a hug.  We mentioned to you that we used a third of our income then just to buy your baby formula as I couldn't breastfeed,  you were relatively small, the nurses always insulted me for not breastfeeding exclusively, you fell ill quite alot, very ill, however you would always bounce back. Tomorrow, you will be 9! A lot has changed, you are vibrant, matured, talkative, inquisitive, mischievous, yet you love doing the chores, you love hugging me still,  we watch romantic films together, we both began watching the Indian channel, analysing Sageer, Sameer, and Vadia  in #the vow. You hardly fall sick, you already have curves, your dreams are so big, that I look forward to seeing you doing each one. My baby,  I love you!  You showed me how to live, you taught me to be calm. Happy Birthday  Princess #Inikpi Araoluwa  ( the wonders of God!) I have enjoyed everyday with you,  and I look forward to much more with you.  My midget ( your brains surpass your years)  my blunt, straight to the point, yet biased in judgement concerning her mum,  always be you. I hope you would read this blog when you need reassurance, it puts a smile on your face and gives you the strength to move on in life.  Enjoy everyday of your  life, do not worry about anything, as everything falls into place in the long run.
