Sales inspiration
This is ascenario in Sales.
We heave sighs of relief when competition is down, As Salesmen we need to focus on ourselves as a team.
In Nigeria, we are a population of over 150 million people. Each person has a unique desire and personality, this means we have an opportunity to develop 150 million unique brands. How many brands do we have today? We all want to sell Superbrands, but have we created any? if we do not work on our dreams, we would always be paid for selling the dreams of others.
As a Salesman, we get bored easily, I once read that the average Lifespan of a Star rep is 36 months before he bec9mes dissatisfied, i tried figuring out reasons why this could be true using myself and a few colleagues as case studies.
- Salesmen feel used: we believe that we are Management's punching bag, we are blamed f9r everything that goes wrong, the product could be bad, but the blame always falls on the Sales team.
- Sales teams feel cheated: Management constantly review targes upwards. The Sales team perception is that Management does not want to honour thier commitment. Team leaders need to sell targets to thier teams not shovel it down thier throats.
- Uninvolved in the process: Marketing teams can be fustrating. The air of arrogance around this team can easily make the Sales team blank out. Salesmen are not idiots, people take responsibility of what concerns them. Make the process concern everyone.
- Mean Sales Managers: In Nigeria, it is either you bend or go! sincerely the Company loses more if the Sales Team bend. Positive and constructive feedback is required growth.
- Poor renumeration: ()This breaks my heart) hire less people and pay them more. If you can not manage a sales team, contract your Sales . Salesmen are not beggars.
