MONEY! Money! Money! We work so hard to make money in Nigeria, we work in deplorable conditions, take insults daily from foreigners whom heads are empty, we swallow insults, put our dignity in our pockets to just take any form of sh!t just because we want to earn money and give our kids the best. As Nigerians, we work so hard at things we do not enjoy, we drag ourselves to work day after day just to make ends meet, times are changing we can enjoy our Profession and make money at it. In Nigeria, everybody does the same thing, we are afraid to fail, Failure is painful, we do not have a safety net, we have weak plan B, no bail out, no social security, this stifles our thinking capacity as fear kills our real potential. "You can be happy and make Money simultaneously" What do you enjoy doing the most? Let me share a story, As a sales team lead, I have met a huge array of people, some are different than I, some I dislike, some inspire me, but a major issue I have is that I am ...

Sales Jobs can seem to be weary behind closed doors, you get to a point and say to yourself "is this really worth the stress?" Sales jobs have their down days where you feel that you just cannot go on. From experience it is easier to stay Self Motivated, than expecting to Management to keep you motivated, because we all have a free will, and we rebel when being coerced into submission. I get cranky when I receive lousy customer service, I have screamed at the MTN Offices (Opebi and Oluyole) I have screamed at the DSTV office at Jericho, Etisalat office at The Palms at Ring road, rolled my eyes at the administrators at my daughters' schools, screamed at the bank, Ali tries to stop my show of top notch customer service, he keeps me in the car while he pays the bills. (I am forever grateful that my Bank is 10/10 on mobile payments.) I have been to a few places, and the Customer service is so pleasant, I wonder "is it the training on the job? or the individual is pleasant?" The In vivo Supermarket/ YUdala makes you enjoy your shopping experience time and time again, I just wonder! As a Salesman, we are brainwashed and indoctrinated that "Customers are always right" but how come we still have lousy Customer Service? Individual Ignorance: In the Yoruba Culture, being calm, cool and collected can be mistaken as being "STUPID" I was quite r...

The Average life span of a Sales rep is 3 years before he becomes burnt out. I have never worked for a Company whom really cares if you are happy on the job, so I have come to a realisation that you have to make yourself happy on the job. I will continue to see the Sales Team as an Army, with the structure, Line of command, Discipline, but times change in such a rapid instance, that the Sales structure is constantly being questioned. To get ahead of the pack, you need to have a little extra, your own personal "USB" (Unique Selling Point) Being a Salesman will never guarantee you success, you need to be more than just that. A Well trained monkey can wear a suit and act the part, as you know the ideal sales team to Management is a Team that "does not question" but to be truly successful, you need to bring extra to the table. I understand we have spent a lot of time "trying to survive on the Job", I am going to give a few ideas on the little extra skills; ...
