Smart Sales People can be a Pain in the Back Side.

J.D Rockefeller said “give me workers and not thinkers” Why? Thinkers are complicated. Thinkers challenge the norm. Improved thought process is powerful; the most aligned team needs a thinker in their midst to enable the Team to see a clear picture devoid of clutter. The Team needs strategy, needs someone in the inside to drive the strategy, power tussle in teams is as natural as sibling rivalry. Obviously there is space for everyone.
In Teams there is a strong dominant leader, not necessary the brightest nor strongest, the strongest skill required is the ability to adapt to the team situations at a particular time. (we can call him the team captain) Everything increases in nature, The needs of the team evolve as the team becomes more efficient in their trade, the skills of the captain needs to have evolved in direct proportion of the Team, if slightly slower, the team searches for a replacement, the person that projects the team ideology is put in the post. The ousted team leader becomes a burden to the team and the team decide to sideline him/her or get the person off the team. As a Sales Manager, I have observed that the Captain does play an important role in achieving my volumes . The Captain is always nominated to question me or tell me how they feel. strategy

On my way to Work one morning, listening to an audio book, a statement pops at me "Success is achieving Set goals" Pondering on this, I realise teams are destroyed because we do not know how to manage success of teams when we achieve set goals.   A team is considered successful when set targets are met. A team would have gone through this cycle to become a performing team.
